Cincinnati mayor refuses to use a starter pistol to start a 5K road race

Mayor Mark Mallory says he don't like what the gun symbolizes:

Cincinnati - Mayor Mark Mallory refuses to fire a starter pistol to kick off an upcoming road race, saying he doesn't like the gun's symbolism in a city that set a record for homicides last year.

Mallory said he will blow a whistle at Saturday's Rhythm Race 5K instead. A pistol filled with blanks is traditionally used to start races and track meets.

"I think the symbolism is just bad," he said. "It's just something I don't do."

Silly me, I thought it symbolized the start of the race.

What a sad way of thinking, Nooo, we don't hate guns, there safe with us! I hope they keep this silly stuff up for all Americans to see. How anyone who own a gun or believes in the constitution could vote for a dem is way beyond me. They don't even try to hide they're flat out, dare I say, COMMUNISM!

>>> he doesn't like the gun's symbolism in a city that set a record for homicides last year. I think that speaks more of their mayor than of the guns.

From the words of Archie Bunker, "would it make you feel better if they were all pushed out windows?"
