Sorry it's been so long. I have everything straight now, and am ready to go.

Well it looks like Obama will be the nominee for the Democrats. The only way I could see him losing now would be for a major scandal or blow-up. Clinton is going to stay around because she can't stand the though of losing. You never know what will happen.

Another Missed Opportunity For Conservatism

We could not have asked for two better candidates to run against. Clinton and Obama are like two of the Stooges. We could have defeated either of these two in the general election. Let's think about it for a minute.

Hillary Clinton would not know the truth if it bit her on the butt. She is not even close to being qualified for her Senate seat, much less the presidency. Her personality is a big negative for her. Bill keeps bringing bad press. And so on.

Barack Obama has less experience than Clinton. He holds the title of "the most left wing member of congress." He is tied in with Rezco. Not to mention the great Rev. Wright. And so on.

That is not even considering their ridiculous positions on the issues.

So what did we do? We gave them the third Stooge.

How did America come to this point? We have an unpopular president and an unpopular war which should make this election a cake walk for the opposition party. Yet the best the Democrats can do is to come up with two completely hollow people with no real experience or qualifications beyond their melanon or sexual plumbing. Neither of these people seem able to unite their party and either of them seem easy pickings for even a moderately qualified Republican.

But the Republicans don't nominate a Republican. Instead they pick a closeted Democrat whose greatest joy in life is kicking the Republican party's conservative base and preening for the ultra-liberal mainstream media as he helps pass left-liberal pieces of legislation.

Those two paragraphs pretty much sums it all up. We had the perfect opportunity and we blew it. Who does our side put up? A man who is further left than a lot of the Democrats in the Senate. Check out some of the positions McCain has taken:

Why do we, as Americans always end up with having to choose the lessor of evils?

John McCain IS a Libber, he always has been, and the people that tout him as ANY kind of Conservative apparently need to look up the definition of CONSERVATIVE, because McCain doesn’t fit the profile of a Conservative any more than the Clinton’s or Obama do.

Is There Anything Hillary Can't Do?

A little boy asks Hillary the following question: "My mom makes minimum wage and even though it went up, her hours were cut. And we are not making any more money. Can you help her?"

She goes on to say that she can help. But does not specify how. This is the very thing conservatives warned against before it was raised. For her to bring this up is amazing. She has just proven all of us on the right correct. Of course, you can bet she did not mean to.

Clinton's Economic Plan

Not to be outdone, Hillary discusses her plan to save the economy:

Obama's rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, made a major address in Philadelphia this week calling for additional federal action to help struggling homeowners. Today, speaking at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, N.C., Clinton proposed a $12.5-billion, five-year program to make job retraining available to all workers dislocated by industry closings.

"We are competing in a new global economy, but our policies to equip American workers for the 21st century are stuck back in the 20th," she said. "It's time for a president who is ready on Day One to be the commander in chief of our economy. Sometimes the phone rings at 3 a.m. in the White House and it's an economic crisis."

When in doubt, throw more government money at the problem. So where do they plan on getting all this money? That is right, taxpayer dollars. Would someone tell these people to stay the hell away from my wallet.

The '08 Blues

I am truly sorry for not posting more, but I just can't seem to get motivated to write about anything right now. I hope to get back into high gear shortly.

Let's see, Obama is falling from grace. Hillary is a liar. McCain is cruising through, waiting on a challenger. Quite frankly it amazes me that any of the three have a chance to lead this country. Unfortunately for us, one of them will.

One thing that causes me concern is all the talk about race. It is an important issue, but because every time the subject comes up someone gets fired. If you listen to the talk shows you have heard a lot mentioned about race.

I think it was on bill O'reilly that I heard the best description of how I feel about the topic of discussing race. Many white people will not engage in meaningful dialog on race because it is too easy to get into trouble. It seems the whole conversation is spent trying not to offend someone else. The discussion is meaningless unless all sides can openly talk about their feelings without the possibility of being punished or being branded a racist. Until the day comes where everyone's opinion is considered equal, an open discussion is impossible.

What Qualifies As Experience?

They have finally started digging into Hillary's schedules while she was First Lady:

In her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton has touted her experience in the Clinton White House as preparation to lead the nation in a time of crisis. "Ready on day one" has been her slogan.

But an initial reading of some of the more than 11,000 pages of Clinton's schedules from her days as first lady, released today by the National Archives and the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library, shows that she was often far from the site of decision-making during some of the most pivotal events of Bill Clinton's presidency.

Clinton, who was an accomplished attorney and first lady of Arkansas before moving to the White House, frequently claims more than 30 years experience in public life, contrasting herself with Barack Obama's slimmer resume - he served several years in the Illinois legislature and was elected to the US Senate in 2004.

Let us look at that last paragraph. What does Hillary's resume look like. She was a lawyer, although I don't know how accomplished she was. But let us face it, her public experience is about the same as Obama's. She has served as a few years in the Senate. Other than that she is married to Bill.

This is just a few examples of her "experience":

For instance, Clinton has said she helped negotiate the April 1998 Good Friday agreement between warring factions in Northern Ireland. But while Catholic and Protestant figures hashed out last-minute details of a power-sharing agreement in Belfast, Clinton was at the National Press Club in Washington at a party honouring Bella Abzug, a congresswoman from New York City who had died recently. While President Clinton phoned major participants in the peace talks, she met with Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel and joined a farewell party for Democratic operative Karen Finney. On the day the agreement was actually signed, she met with Philippine first lady Amelita Ramos.

If being married to someone counts toward experience, I'll be happy to let my wife fix your electronic equipment and I'll write your insurance policy for you. I don't think you would be satisfied with either.

I am sure she did get a few experiences from her time at the White House.

Of course she didn't pick up on the fact that Bill was running around on her, even though it looks like she was there:

Hillary Clinton was present in the White House, however, for at least one significant event of the Clinton presidency. On November 15 1995, when President Clinton is said to have begun his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, she was in the White House, according to her schedule.

Be Careful What You Wish For

That is what Hillary told Rush the other day:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), buoyed by important victories in the Democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, on Wednesday offered some words of warning to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who had urged Republicans to vote for her as the presumptively easier Democrat to beat.

“Be careful what you wish for, Rush,” Clinton said on Fox News.

I hate to admit it but I think she may be right. To me she seems like the best candidate to put up against McCain. I know, she is mean, Bill is hurting her, people don't trust her. The thing that bothers me about her is this- she will talk about the issues.

Obama wants change, but what kind does he want. On most topics he says nothing. On the few he does talk about, he is about as far left as you can get. I think he would do a lot worse in a debate with McCain than Hillary would.

Don't get me wrong Hillary is a major lefty too, but she also knows how to "sound" like she is in the middle of the road. She has been running on her experience. For the most part I can't see any. But on lying, cheating, and stealing she is a pro. And that pretty much makes her a pro at campaigning.

Either way, I think it is going to be hard for McCain to win. I still will not vote for him. I still plan on writing someone in. If McCain wins he will have to do it without me.

No surprise McCain picked up Bush's endorsement yesterday:

President Bush endorsed Sen. John McCain for president on Wednesday, saying the presumptive Republican nominee has the "character, courage and perseverance" to lead the country.

Did this change your opinion about McCain any? All I thought was "one Rino to another". While it is true Bush did a good job on many fronts, he also holds left wing positions on others. I have been upset with Bush many times over his Presidency. I would probably be less thrilled after McCain's 7th year.

Pick One: Romney, Clinton, McCain, Obama

It looks likes it is a four way race for the Presidency.

Giuliani and Edwards are calling it quits.

Well here we go again, which one is the lesser of the four evils?

It looks like that may be Romney. But will enough conservatives get excited about Mitt? The answer is no.

The problem is; if the conservatives do not get motivated come November the Republican nominee will not win. Hillary and Obama are having a lot of success getting people to the polls. When one of these two get the nod the Dems will rally behind them to try and defeat their real enemy, Republicans.

The problem for the Republicans is this; we have been doing this an awful lot lately and many of us are getting tired of carrying water for people, only to have them slap us in the face while in office. I am almost positive McCain would carry his "face-slapping gloves" with him at all times. Can Romney be trusted not to "slap" us around too? I would have to answer no. Truth be told I think he is probably not much better, if any better than McCain at all. In my opinion he says whatever it is he thinks you want to hear. While running for Governor he wasn't all that different from the Dems. Now that he is going for the Republican nomination he seems to be more conservative. Would the real Mitt Romney please stand?

As far as looking at the Democratic candidates. I know that I disagree with them on every major issue, as well as %99.999 of the small ones. That is why I really don't talk about them yet. Right now they are infighting within the Democratic party. That is a place I would prefer to stay away from. Don't worry I will get to them before the general election rolls around. I am glad to see more than a few Dems realize how pathetic Bill Clinton is though.

What to do? I just don't know.

Hillary Flip Flops On Driver's Licenses For Illegals

Hillary puts on a display of "flopping and twitching", at least she is good at it:

Yesterday, in an attempt to neutralize one possible threat at the debate, her campaign announced that Mrs. Clinton would not support driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants as president. It is the latest formulation of her position, which has shifted since it became a tripping point in the last televised debate on Oct. 30.

Her advisers say they hope the matter will now be off the table, but Mrs. Clinton’s top rivals made clear that they would continue to press the argument they have been making in recent weeks, that she is inconsistent and overly political.

“When it takes two weeks and six different positions to answer one question on immigration, it’s easier to understand why the Clinton campaign would rather plant their questions than answer them,” said Bill Burton, a spokesman for Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, a rival in the race for the nomination.

“Wow, this is dizzying,” added Eric Schultz, a spokesman for former Senator John Edwards of North Carolina, another rival.

Yes, she has taken several different positions on this in the last few weeks. Yes, this is dizzying. It is par for the course though. She says what she thinks people want to hear. The only problem is she still is the most likely candidate to win the democratic nomination.

The good thing about that is the fact that she will hear about this all through the general election too. I know I am going against the grain here, but I think she is a very weak candidate. She should have no problem convincing the left she is the person for the job. The problem for her is convincing the average Joe voter who will not show up in Jan. or Feb. It is getting the vote of the "regular" American population.

Democratic Debate Thursday Night, Can Hillary Recover?

The Democrats get another shot tomorrow night in Las Vegas:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (N.Y.) campaign has a chance to reclaim momentum in the race for the Democratic nomination at Thursday night’s debate in Las Vegas.

In the two weeks since the last debate in Philadelphia, where Clinton later admitted she had an off night, her campaign has experienced repeated missteps. This has led many analysts and supporters of her rivals to believe her campaign ship is listing and ripe for capsizing.

While Clinton’s chief rivals are sure to remain on the offensive, Clinton will have the opportunity Thursday to re-establish herself as the candidate to beat, a notion reinforced by most national and state polls despite apparent slips in key places.

“This is a very important debate for Sen. Clinton because you want to see if Philadelphia was just a one-time occurrence and a bad night or if her campaign has been knocked down a bit,” said one Democratic strategist.

Dennis Goldford, a political science professor at Drake University in Iowa, where Clinton remains in a tight three-way race with former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.) and Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.), said Clinton needs a strong debate performance to counter the growing media narrative that her campaign is reeling.

Will all those big, bad, scary men attack the poor, defenseless girl again? I'd lay money on it. She has shown weakness and needs to rebound tomorrow. They all know this and will be chomping at the bit to hit her again.

Of course, even with the terrible performance in the last debate, she is still way ahead in the polls. The race is hers to lose.

I think this did more to damage her in the general than in the primary. It proves she is not invincible. She does not have her husband's charm and political prowess. Maybe now is the time to start looking for a more conservative candidate instead of putting a RINO in just because of the perception that only one of the republicans can defeat Hillary. I think at least three, and quite possibly five could get that job done.

Hillary Down But Definitely Not Out

DES MOINES - Where did Hillary Clinton's mojo go?

That's what her campaign has to be asking after a rough two weeks. And more importantly, they have to be wondering how to recapture that fading aura of an unstoppable juggernaut.

Top Clinton strategist Mark Penn doesn't own up to his candidate suffering a dip, but he admits it's been tougher of late.

"The opponents went negative, and that created a new dynamic and a different set of headlines," Penn said.

The new dynamic emerged at the debate in Philadelphia two weeks ago, but didn't just spring from sharp criticism by her opponents. Clinton stumbled by offering fuzzy answers to some questions and refusing to take a stance on Gov. Spitzer's license plan for illegal immigrants.

Then Camp Clinton's damage control backfired as she was pounded for suggesting the "boys" ganged up on her. And Bill Clinton brought more scorn when he said the attempt to get an answer out of his wife on licenses verged on John Kerry Swift Boat territory.

Now Penn and company plan to stick to the high road, talking about Clinton's strength, experience and vision for America, fund-raising at a torrid rate and deploying Bill Clinton more.

They're also launching counterattacks, calling her opponents mudslingers.

Don't make the mistake of thinking Clinton is just the poor little girl being picked on. I don't think the other candidates are going to like where this is headed. They have attacked her now and the Clinton smear machine will begin working over the next couple of weeks. She can play that game with the best of them.

"I think it is hurting her, although for me, it's made me feel a little better toward her," said Roy McCoy, of Riverside, Iowa. "I don't like bullying."

Roy, you have not seen bullying yet. But I am sure Hillary will show you a fine display very soon.

Fred On Hillary's "Drivers Licenses for Illegal Aliens" Debate Answer

While Hillary Clinton was speaking out both sides of her mouth at last night’s debate over the issue of drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, what went unsaid is that this is a recipe for increased voter fraud. Under the federal “Motor Voter” law (the National Voter Registration Act of 1993), states must provide applicants for drivers licenses with the opportunity to register to vote.

Giving legal drivers licenses to illegal immigrants is wrong and would provide them the opportunity to register to vote in our country. People who are not citizens of the United States should not be encouraged by pandering politicians to further break our laws and risk the health of our political system.

This could be just what the doctor ordered for Fred. It is amazing how out of touch with the American people most politicians are on this issue. Mitt, John, and Rudy are all damaged on this issues. Fred needs to keep pushing this issue.

It is funny to watch the candidates try to answer questions they have not prepared for. The question clearly caught "her thighness" off guard. When she realized what she had said, she tried to save face but it was too late.

Hillary is supposed to be a very smart women. She is not. What she is good at is politics.
