WND: "Federal obligations exceed world GDP"

Not good:

As the Obama administration pushes through Congress its $800 billion deficit-spending economic stimulus plan, the American public is largely unaware that the true deficit of the federal government already is measured in trillions of dollars, and in fact its $65.5 trillion in total obligations exceeds the gross domestic product of the world.

The total U.S. obligations, including Social Security and Medicare benefits to be paid in the future, effectively have placed the U.S. government in bankruptcy, even before new continuing social welfare obligation embedded in the massive spending plan are taken into account.

The real 2008 federal budget deficit was $5.1 trillion, not the $455 billion previously reported by the Congressional Budget Office, according to the "2008 Financial Report of the United States Government" as released by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

I am no economic expert. I'll be the first to admit it. But this has got to be a bad thing.

Got an Extra Ten Minutes?

Watch this video on the economy from Fred Thompson:

Fred touched on a very interesting topic. The youth of this nation. A voting block that which overwhelmingly supported the dems.

These young people are also the ones that will be effected the most from our constant march towards socialism. And this "CHANGE" will most definitely be negative. I just want to offer a little word of advise for everyone, especially the youth: Given the choice between Capitalism and socialism, always choose Capitalism. (no matter what your professor says)

Edward Koch: We've Been Had

The bailout has been a bust:

The more I think about it, the more I believe we were had when the federal government proposed that $700 billion bailout to primarily deal with the liquidity crisis.

At the time, nobody seemed to know what to do. When Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke jointly proposed the bailout in an attempt to avoid a repeat of the Great Depression, nearly everyone threw up their hands and concluded there was no alternative.

His solution; CAPITALISM!:

Why not let them be bought by others in bankruptcy? There are those who say we are bailing out companies in order to prevent massive layoffs. In my view, those layoffs will come sooner or later anyhow because those companies are run by incompetents and no longer able to compete, while foreign companies like Toyota, manufacturing their cars in the U.S., are selling them and not seeking to be bailed out.

This is why we must get elect true conservatives from our party. The dems are certainly not going to fix this mess. Their solution to any problem is to throw more money at it.

Time To Break The Silence

I have not posted in about a week. I was not too busy. I was taking a moment of silence for my country. I believe we are well on our way down the path to socialism. This atrocious bailout bill has opened up a path for many socialist policies to follow.

Which candidate will be willing to stop our decent into full fledged socialism? After watching the debate last night, it appears to me the answer is neither of them. I think Obama, being a socialist himself, has got to love this bill. And McCain, hell he is already calling for more money to be thrown at this.

Congress will surely do nothing to stop this kind of thing. The leaders of both the Senate and the House are nothing more than clowns in nice clothing. If any person out there believes that congress will be able to solve this problem, please make an appointment with your therapist today.

One interesting thing about Congress. Not all that important, but it is food for thought. I have heard a lot of complaining about the "pork" that was in the bailout bill. The fact is, the bailout plan was the pork. The house had already passed the bill with the arrows in it. The Senate attached the bailout plan onto this bill. Why? You ask. They had to. The Constitution states that all spending bills have to be initiated in the House. Therefore the Senate could not bring a spending bill forward. So they just attached it to some bill, any bill. So, the bailout plan is PORK!

I am a person that loves his country. I believe in the vision the founders of this country used in creating the Constitution. I feel that America has proven itself to be the most successful and honorable country this world has ever seen. I do not think that our representatives feel the same way as I do.

I support capitalism at all costs. It has made this country the strongest country in the world. Allowing it to slip away will bring us to the level of every other country that does not practice it religiously. This bill has taken a huge chunk of it away. It has also opened the door for the complete removal of capitalism from our country. We WILL suffer from the effects of this bill for a long time.

Thank God For The House

A statement from Mark Levin:

...Also, count me among those few here who want to thank the House Republicans for taking a bold stand against what had been a stampede on a scale I have never before witnessed on matters of huge consequence. Conservatism is more than a quaint belief-system to be embraced and debated over donuts at Starbucks. It is more than a list of talking points. It is the foundation of the civil society. The liberal uses crises, real or manufactured, to expand the power of government at the expense of the individual and private property. He has spent, in earnest, 70 years evading the Constitution's limits on governmental power. If conservatives don't stand up to this, who will? If they don't offer serious alternatives that address the current circumstances AND defend the founding principles, who will? The House Republicans have done both. And I, for one, thank them.

Capitalism works! It's that simple. The government got us into this mess in the first place. Why in the hell do we think they will do anything but make it worse?

I have heard a lot of blame games being played here. Everyone in the US is responsible for this. Some more than others, but we all share some responsibility. Yes, even the taxpayers have to take some blame. Let me explain, the taxpayers are also the voters. We have elected a bunch of clowns to lead this country. Things are not going to change until we give them the boot. If we keep electing people like this to lead our country, things are not going to improve. Keep that in mind when you walk into the voting booth next month.

Video: On The Economic Crisis

You may have to pause a few times, it moves kinda fast. Just Watch:

About This Economic Crisis

I have been pretty silent about this whole mess. I have been keeping a close eye on it though.

I don't know much about the inner workings of the economy. I will be the first to admit that. But I can't shake the feeling that throwing that much money into this idea would be a step toward socialism.

I am a firm believer in capitalism, and this is definitely not capitalism at work. I find it hard to believe that so many people are willing to "throw capitalism under the bus". (I hate that saying, and that is the first time I have used it. But I hate a lot of what I have been hearing the last couple of days, so it seems appropriate.) I am also upset that all these "smart" people can come up with is this.

One important aspect that we are not hearing enough about is who is really at fault. I know, I know it's Bush's fault. He is the president after all. Let's face it, this all boils down to congress. Year after year of terrible laws have brought this to a head. Now these same people are going to work to solve the problem they created. How screwed up is that?

I am not going to pretend like I know the answer here. The best analysis I have heard so far was from Rush yesterday. He suggested a suspension of the capital gains tax for a few years to give investors the incentives to put money into the market. Like I said before, I will always err on the side of capitalism.

As far as the debate goes, I think McCain will be there. I disagree with it. If a plan is not in place I think he should stand his ground and stay in Washington. But then again, I am not in a battle to win the presidency.

Please let me know your thoughts on this whole deal. I need all the opinions I can get on this on.
